BDPA
Twin Cities
BDPA Twin Cities was founded in 1989. The group sponsors
local networking events as well as IS related workshops.
They enjoy the support of the local corporate community.
BDPA Twin Cities meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month.
The meetings include an educational program as well
as opportunities to network and learn from other professionals
interested in IS.
Our goals
are as ambitious as our members are.
BDPAs primary objective is to accumulate a pool
of information technology knowledge and business expertise
in order to:
- Support the interest of those exploring
the IT field as a career or business opportunity.
- Provide a forum for the development
of minority skills and interests within the IT industry.
- Enhance awareness of the IT industry
within the minority community
How you can
benefit
BDPA-TWIN CITIES CHAPTER cultivates opportunities to
ensure the technical and professional development of
its members in the information technology field. The
organizations main purpose is to be a positive
influence on the industry's direction, to encourage
the exploration of information technology as a career
option, and to facilitate the advancement of information
science knowledge throughout the community.
How you can
help
However, educational technical opportunities still reach
the African American and other minority communities
at a slow pace. Recognizing the need for accelerated
action, BDPA-TWIN CITIES CHAPTER provides educational,
technical, and training projects to the community and
its members. BDPA-TWIN CITIES CHAPTER perceives itself
as a catalyst for social change. As such, the association
realizes that it is increasingly necessary to invest
a greater portion of time and efforts in the under privileged
communities of this information-age society. This is
where you the BDPA membership come in.
